Galaboda Falls is located close to Watawala town in Nuwara Eliya District. The easiest way to get there is to travel by upcountry train.
Galaboda has been known as an area of pure water since ancient times. At the same time, the British built a pond built for their water needs in front of the Galaboda railway station.
Get down from the railway station and walk along the railway track for about 100 meters and you will come across a small road towards the mountain.
Once you reach the Mahaweli River, a bridge has been built to go through it. You can reach the foot of the Galaboda Falls by crossing the river. Most of the time it is said to be about 22 feet.
It should be noted that the area around Watawala is one of the most frequent annual rainfall areas in Sri Lanka.
The climate of Galaboda Falls has a cool temperate climate and can be seen in the endemic birds and reptiles of Sri Lanka. There are about 12 species of reptiles in Sri Lanka.
